Freebitco.in offers you a small fraction of bitcoin-- called satoshi-- which you can claim every 60 minutes. At the time of writing this article, Freebitco.in is giving away around 20 satoshis every hour, which is not that much. 

Why would I want to spend my time on such a small amount of money?
I agree that 20 satoshis isn't a lot of money. But as some of you might know bitcoin price rises over time. When I first joined the site, I took it only as a fun. I would claim around once a week. They were giving 45 satoshis an hour at that time. I regretted my decision not to use that opportunity to get as much bitcoins as I could. Bitcoin price rises over time, which is why they'll decrease the hourly rate when the price rises. The events are mostly about sports, so if you have a vast knowledge in that area then this is the site for you. There are also bunch of other events, such as VMA winners or the winning political party (which means more money, yay!). 

What I love the most about Freebitco.in is the lack of ads. I haven't seen a single ad placement on the site since the first time I joined it.

Does that mean Freebitco.in is a scam?
Not really, no. There are certain aspects of the site that encourages you to spend more, but Freebitco.in is not a scammer. One tip I can give you is do not trust the counters that changes every second. I'm 100% sure it's fake. Although the actual number of the counters (not the one that they display) does increase, it's not as fast as they make you think it is. Other than that, there are no scams at all.

Okay, so back to the topic. If they don't have ads, then how do they make money? Freebitco.in is more than a faucet, it's also a betting platform. People deposits bitcoins to the site in hopes of getting money but often, they lose. This loss is used to cover people who win. Not to forget that most people goes straight to the Hi-Lo game after claiming, which is bad if you don't have lots of satoshis. They also use that investment to fund bitcoin mining on their own platforms.

Freebitco.in has been operating for years (I don't remember the exact year). There are tons proofs of them being legitimate. If you see an article claiming that Freebitco.in is a scammer and that the Hi-Lo game is rigged, it's probably written by some unlucky guy who doesn't want to accept the loss. Freebitco.in's Hi-Lo game has a house edge, which means you are a little bit more likely to lose than to win. This is why I don't recommend playing the game. 
How do I get the most of Freebitco.in then?

Here are some more tips for you:
  1. Don't bet right away. If you are new to the site, don't bet right away after your first few claims. Wait until you've accumulated some decent amount of satoshis so you can cover more loss.
  2. Deposit some bitcoins, but don't play the games. You get around 4% annual interest rate for the amount of bitcoins you have. Don't play the game though, if you're not ready to lose.
  3. Leave the tab open on your phone. It gives you easy access to the site. Most people are always on their phone. If you leave the tab open, you can just open your browser and click the claim button. Bam! Free bitcoins.
  4. Refer to people. You'll get 50% of the base prize every time your referral claims the bitcoin, and also a 50% of their annual interests.
